RYAN HUNTER
I’m a Wedding Photographer & Videographer based in Yorkshire, but i’ll happily follow you all over the world to capture your wedding on camera. Being a wedding photographer was something that I never envisaged becoming. Like ever. And yet here I am, doing the best job I could ever hope for. Working in the corporate world for longer than I care to remember, I first picked up a camera to document daily life and to capture my wild camping trips for YouTube about 5 years ago. So it was landscape photography that got me into this beautiful art form. I am a massive adventurer at heart and love nothing more than getting out into the hills of the Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District and spending a night in my tent with a cup of tea, or more likely a can of ale, my camera and taking in this amazing place I’m lucky to call Home.
I suppose if I had to put a label on it, I’m a documentary style Wedding Photographer with an Editorial Edge. 95% thoughtfully capturing the natural authentic moments that take place at weddings; the hand holding, the forehead kisses, the tears & laughter. Real authentic genuine emotion that, when you look at your photos in 10 years time, will make you remember how you felt, not just how you looked. And then 5% artistic licence to create memorable portraits using light and shapes to make your wedding photographs feel like they could be screen grabs from a classic film.
I like to think of myself as a “photographer who shoots weddings” rather than a “Wedding Photographer”. Wedding Photography can be often be seen as cheesey, cliche & all a bit “samey”. However, taking my inspiration from cinema, editorial, portrait, the great street photographers and manipulators of light ensures that I deliver you a gallery of artistic editorial photographs that stand out from the norm. In my free time you can often find me with my head in a photography book from the likes of Christopher Anderson, Jeremy Snell or William Albert Allard with a humongous cup of coffee. Natural light is king in my eyes and I like to use it as creatively as possible when taking photographs at weddings.
